How to root tecno camon c8 lollipop and marshmallow

Tecno Camon C8 is a very stubborn device when it comes to rooting, because easiest apps such as Kingroot, Vroot, Framaroot, Tecnoroot, Rootgenius etc., are not working for it. The below tutorial will guide the Tecno Camon C8 users to Root their device.

Important Notice

After rooting your phone, it’s advisable to unroot before performing an OTA update or restoring factoring settings.

Materials Needed For Rooting

» PC with internet connection

» USB Cable

» SP Flash Tool - Download it Here

» SuperSU.zip - Download it Here 

» TWRP for Tecno c8-Download it Here

To Root Tecno Camon C8

» Save the SuperSU.zip that you downloaded to your phone's SD card

» Unzip the TWRP zip file that you downloaded and flash the recovery image to the phone using SP Flash Tool(see how to flash with SP flash tool at the end of this post)

» Now, boot your phone into TWRP Recovery Mode (by Holding the Vol Up and Power button simultaneously for 5 seconds)

» In TWRP Recovery, Choose install zip from SD card - to choose a zip from SD card use Vol up and down scroll up and down, then choose the Supersu.zip file from the root of your SD card.

Scroll to yes and install, when flashing is complete go back and reboot.

To root tecno camon c8 marshmallow 

• Download all the above mentioned materials needed apart from TWRP
• Download twrp for tecno c8 marshmallow here
• » Save the SuperSU.zip that you downloaded to your phone's SD card
• » Unzip the TWRP zip file that you downloaded and flash the recovery image to the phone using SP Flash Tool(see how to flash with SP flash tool at the end of this post)

How to flash with SP flash tool

1. Download SP flash tool here
2. Download ADB drivers here
3. Extract ADB drivers and install it to your computer, after that extract SP flash tool to a folder
4. Open the twrp you downloaded and extract the two files to folder in your computer
5. Now locate the SP flash tool folder you extracted and double click on flash_tool to launch SP flash tool
6. When it opens successfully just click on scatter-loading
7. Locate the folder you extracted twrp to and select the scatter file e.g MT6735_Android_scatter.txt
8. Click on download and then switch off your phone and remove the battery
9. Now connect your phone to your computer with a USB chord for the download process to begin
10. When its finally complete just disconnect your phone from your computer, insert your battery and switch it on
11. In case your phone boot loops, reboot to recovery and wipe data/factory reset.
12. You now have team win recovery project on your device
